You guys! I missed my Week in Review post last week and it seriously bothered me ALL week. I’ve really, really enjoyed writing these posts. Not just for you all, but for me. It’s so great to look back on our week and see what went well/what didn’t, you know? Plus, I think these personal posts help you all get to know me a little bit better. And that way the blog’s not just all reviews and sponsored content. I hope you all like these sharing posts as much as I do!
So….lets rewind to the previous week because there were some pretty fun things that happened. Lets see….my babywearing collection grew. It’s seriously an addiction – just like cloth diapers. I bought a Wrapsody Bali Breeze Lana and an Easycare Rainbow #1. Love them both! Did I ever tell you all that I passed my Volunteer Babywearing Educator written test? I did! Now I’m just waiting to take my skills test. I’m ready, but I need a doll to demonstrate newborn carries with and I haven’t gotten one yet.
I took my Easycare Rainbow to Knoebels (an amusement park) last weekend. It’s a shorty wrap (size 2) so it fit really nicely in my diaper bag, and I didn’t have to worry about it dragging on the ground while I wrapped. I alternated between a Rucksack Tied Under the Bum (RUB) and a Rebozo Carry all day. I loved it. Lots of stares from people (mostly curious I think) and a few people stopped to ask me about it. Just spreading the babywearing love!
Grady had a blast at Knoebels. This is his third year going and each year he gets more comfortable on the rides and is able to do more things. This time he was tall enough to go down the Log Flume Ride with Eric. He LOVED it. Eric said he wasn’t scared at all. It was overall a great day, great weather, and everyone enjoyed themselves.
We got to do a little gardening at my parent’s house last weekend, too. Eric and my Dad started preparing to plant and Grady and Haley just had fun playing in the dirt. I’m excited to see how the garden progresses this year.
We’ve been soaking up the sunshine the last 2 weeks. We’ve had some lovely 70 degree weather. Not too hot. Not too cold. Just perfect really for outside play time. Grady’s been enjoying playing outside in our development. He loves to imitate the landscapers. He pushes around his lawn mower, pretends to blow leaves and grass clippings with his “blower” – which is really just a piece to my vacuum. He puts on his backpack, a pair a gloves, and walks around with the vacuum hose. It’s seriously the cutest thing ever.
We’ve been playing a lot in our sandbox, too. And Haley’s getting better at not eating it. She loves being outside, too. She loves crawling though the grass and even takes off down our sidewalk. She’ll go pretty far, stop, and look back to make sure I’m watching. It’s a fun little game for her.
Now that the weather is nice, lots of yard sales have popped up. We went to a few on Saturday. Scored some cute Baby Gap and Gymboree clothes for Haley. I didn’t find anything for Grady. I think he’s out of the good yard sale sizes. He’s now a 3T and I hardly ever find any good stuff in that size. I guess it’s because kids wear that size longer than baby clothes. That would make sense.
Yesterday was my Mom’s Birthday, so we went out to dinner with my family and had some cake. Well, everyone had cake except me and Haley. Darn dairy sensitivity. I’m seriously going to binge on dairy, once she’s done breastfeeding. I miss it so much. And I’m so sick of Oreo Cookies. Did you know they’re dairy free? It was awesome when I found out they were, but now I’m totally sick of them.
