Last year I was lucky enough to get ahold of a Nifty Nappy Woolie and 2 SwimEase Swim Diapers before the owner, Vilate, stopped selling her diapers in mass (you can still find a few on their Facebook page though). So what’s Red Barn Cloth Diapers have to do with Nifty Nappy? After closing, Nifty Nappy began offering Cottage Licensees (permission to use the pattern and sell the diapers) to WAHM’s! Red Barn Cloth Diapers is just one of the few who now make Nifty Nappy Cloth Diapers! Woohoo! These are the best WAHM made diapers I’ve ever used!

logo_for_red-barn_cloth_diapersJeni, from Red Barn Cloth Diapers, actually used to help Vilate sew diapers when she was still in business, so you can bet that you’re getting a quality product that’s made exactly like a Nifty Nappy. The difference you’ll notice is that Red Barn Cloth Diapers adds a red micro-fleece to the inside of the diaper. It’s a unique edition that sets them apart. Red Barn Cloth Diapers makes the Nifty Nappy Fitted, the Nifty Nappy AI2, the Nifty Nappy Heavy Doody, the Nifty Nappy Woolie Wrap, the Nifty Nappy Bitty Bum, the Nifty Nappy Weensie Woolie, and the Nifty Nappy SwimEase (my favorite swim diaper by the way).

Jeni made Haley a Red Barn Nifty Nappy Fitted to try! I picked the fabric (Happy Rainbows) and then about a week later I had a new diaper in my hand! She sewed it up and sent it out super fast. The Fitted Diaper is OS  (7-35 lbs.) and can even be folded down to fit smaller babies (see video tutorial). It’s got a cotton knit outer layer that comes in tons of adorable prints and then the inside of the diaper is made with organic hemp fleece (very absorbent) and then topped with micro-fleece, so it’s super soft and wicks moisture away from your baby’s delicate skin. It comes with an insert that you just lay on top of the diaper that’s made from organic hemp fleece on one side and organic bambo velour on the other. You just fold it in half with the bamboo velour on top to create even more absorbency! These diapers also have very durable snaps and feature cross over snaps so you’ll get a great fit even on skinny waists. Just remember, that since it’s a fitted diaper, you’ll need to use a cover! The Woolie Wrap makes this a bulletproof diaper for over night!

Nifty_Nappy_fitted_Cloth_Diaper_from_Red_Batn_Cloth_DiapersThis diaper fits Haley amazingly well! She’s big enough now that I don’t have to fold the diaper down to fit her. I do prefer a higher rise with diapers, so it works out perfectly. We haven’t had any leaks (pee or poo) with this diaper yet. I did one time forget to put a cover on her and then wondered why my shirt was wet a little while later though. Oops! The print is just too cute to cover up that I forgot! We’ve used this diaper over night (about 6 hours) with success paired with a Woolie Wrap. I love that the combination is breathable and it cuts down on the chance you’ll get diaper rash from being in the same diaper all night. So far it’s held up perfectly to multiple washings and hasn’t faded a bit. I’ll keep you posted in how it looks after longer use, but it’s very high quality, so I’m thinking it will fare really well.

  39. Sorry but 23.50 is not affordable WAHM type dipe or not:/

    • For a WAHM diaper, $23.50 is on the affordable end, especially for the quality that you’re getting. I’ve seen many WAHM diapers that are much much more than this! While you can get lots of diapers for less than this, you have to remember that someone made this diaper BY HAND and that’s what you’re paying for. I hope you win, it’s such a lovely diaper! :)
