Now onto my review and GIVEAWAY of the Lullaby Earth Super Lightweight 2 Stage Crib Mattress………
Grady never slept much in his crib. I thought I would be able to reuse his mattress for Haley since he never used it, but he recently transitioned from our bed to his own toddler bed. His crib mattress fits right into his toddler bed so it’s finally getting some use! That meant I needed to buy a new one for Haley even though we’re a co-sleeping family. Because Grady’s only 2, I’m using the crib as a “safe place” to put Haley when I use the bathroom, shower, etc. so that Grady doesn’t accidentally hurt her. She’ll eventually use a crib mattress, so I wanted to get as healthy of an option as I could find for her.
I decided to get one from Lullaby Earth. I went with the Super Lightweight 2-Stage Crib Mattress since it’s likely that Haley won’t use it much until she’s ready for a toddler bed (I’ll get to that feature in a bit). Even more important though, is that it’s chemical and allergen free unlike most traditional mattresses. Their mattresses are free of polyurethane foam (including “soybean” foam blends), vinyl/PVC, polyurethane coated nylon or damask, PFC water-resistant treatments, antibacterial biocides and other various chemicals. Instead of the chemicals needed to make it fire retardent, Lullaby Earth uses hydrated silica, a harmless natural mineral. Their partnership with Healthy Child Healthy World was what sealed the deal for me. Knowing that Lullaby Earth met HCHW’s strict quality standards gave me piece of mind that I was choosing a safe product for Haley.
I was so surprised when the mattress arrived at my door. I knew that it was going to be light, but I was still shocked that I picked up this huge box and carried it right inside. It’s only 7 lbs! I think Grady’s mattress weighs 3X’s that! Having such a lightweight mattress makes changing the crib sheet super easy. I can lift the end of the mattress right up and slide the sheet on! It’s a perfect snug fit, too!
Another feature that I like is that it’s completely WATERPROOF. No worrying about urine or spit up getting into the mattress. It’s completely sealed all around so there’s no chance of anything getting in (bed bugs included). No mildew. No mold. No bacteria. Just a perfectly clean mattress that’ll last for many years! And when we’re done with it, it’s completely recyclable!
Now, lets talk about the 2-Stage feature. One side of the mattress is firm for use by infants and the other side of the mattress is softer for use by toddlers. Isn’t that neat? I’ve never seen another mattress like that before. It’s a great idea! We have it set up in the crib with the firm side up. There’s a little tag with an arrow to help you know what side to put it on. Then when she moves to a toddler bed, we’ll switch it to the softer side! Genius idea!
Haley hasn’t slept on it much yet (a couple naps here and there), but we plan to get lots of use out of it as she grows!

We reduce chemicals by not using them in the first place. I make my own laundry detergent and cleaning sprays. We avoid as many other kinds of chemicals as we can.
I like the sound of this mattress. We try to use all-natural or organic products whenever we can!

WOW!!! I have never even heard of this mattress but how smart! I know I was super aware of getting a firm mattress for our son when he was a baby but now he’s getting older towards being a toddler and I would love to get a softer mattress. This mattress sounds great! I love that it is so lightweight and that it doesn’t have any toxins. That is definitely something I look for when shopping for our little ones – especially when it comes to things like bedding, clothing, blankets, cleaning, food…and then some!

I love how light weight this mattress is… easier to change that crib bedding! Also We reduce chemical exposure by using cloth diapers and wipes and by using orgnaic cleaners and biodegradable laundry detergents
I use more natural products from a company called Melaleuca. Their products use melaleuca oil and do not use chemicals in their products.
I personally prefer an inner spring mattress but I’ll keep this company in mind for friends who prefer the foam core. Sounds like a great product

i try to use less chemicals when i clean. we also buy organic produce which helps us lower the exposure to the chemicals we eat. i love that this mattress has two sides so it really does grow with the child.

I’m currently trying to get rid of using chemicals & buying items with chemicals in my house. It’s crazy how many things aren’t natural anymore! in my house i use towels instead of disposal papertowels for many of bathrooms and kitchem. I also switched many of my cleaning products to green products

I reduce chemicals in the home by using vinegar, baking soda, and sometimes hydrogen peroxide to clean.
I like the Toddler / Infant sides! Different sizes/weight different needs.
we work really hard to reduce toxins in our home. we pay close attention to our bath/body products, cleaning stuff, we cloth diaper, garden organically, buy from the farmer as much as possible.
I only use vinegar, baking soda, essential oils, olive oil, water, peroxide, etc. for cleaning and I make my own laundry soap to name a few things I do.
I love that the mattress is recyclable. I have cut out a lot of chemicals by simplifying my cleaning routines. I use the Kirkland environmentally friendly all purpose cleaner for the majority of my cleaning jobs.
I love that the two sides are clearly labeled – my current mattress we had to guess which side was which (and we’re still not sure we got it right!).

I love that this is so natural (and so lightweight!). I’ve been trying to reduce chemicals in my house- big step was starting to use natural cleaners, like vinegar and baking soda! And Barkeeper’s Friend has been awesome too!
I love the dual firmness option. It makes it a much longer lasting product, everything else gets out grown so quickly!
