Baby girl should be here pretty shortly; hopefully in the next few days! For the past several months, I’ve been gathering up newborn cloth diapers to use, since we all know that OS diapers don’t fit well right away. We used disposables on Grady at first, so this is a whole new experience for us. I”m so excited that her first diaper will be cloth! Now I just need to pick which one!
Here’s the newborn stash shot:

17. Bummis Super Brite Size Small
18. Thirsties Diaper Cover Size XS (review and giveaway coming)
19. Rumparooz Newborn Cover
I still feel like I should purchase a few more covers. I’ve also got a Kissaluvs Newborn Fitted on the way as well. So overall I think I’m all set! 34 diapers if you don’t count the covers! It’s recommended to have 36 diapers for a newborn and I’ve also got a ton of OS diapers from Grady’s stash that I’m excited to try. I’m curious to see when they’ll start fitting. ![]()
Did you cloth diaper from the start? What was in your newborn stash? If not, when did you start?
Don’t forget to visit Lindsey, at So Easy Being Green, for her Fluffy Fridays post. This week she’s reviewing a Planet Wise Wet Bag that you can win in an upcoming giveaway hop!

I planned on starting from birth, but didn’t until my daughter was 4-6 months old. Hopefully, I’ll start much sooner when we have #2.
Wow, now this is a stash!!!!!
I made newborn diapers for my friend and then she had a preemie who came home weighing only 4 pounds so even some of my newborn diapers were too big. The hospital sent us home with 3 packages of diapers and those got us by until he was big enough to fit my homemade diapers then he grew so fast that it was very hard for me to keep up with making him clothe diapers because at the time I was doing fitted with velcro. When he was about 6 months old I switched to an all in two system and that worked much better. He wore those diapers from the time he was 6 months old until just a few months ago when he out grew them. His mother is now making him training pants and more all in two diapers now that he is 2.5 years old.
We started with 12 prefolds, 1 BG NB AIO, a bummis whisper wrap, a bummies super lite, a thirsties XS, and a thirsties duo 1. Eventually we added in 12 more prefolds and slowly built our stash from there. With #2 I would like to get more AIO’s because it was very nice to be able to use those in the middle of the night instead of having to use the prefolds when we were half asleep.
Looks like you’ve built up an awesome stash! We started out with (gasp!) disposables and switched to cloth at about a month. Next time, I think I’ll try to go cloth all the way. Can’t wait to hear how you like all of these brands! I’d love to hear a comparison of the Lil Bee and the Lil Joeys since they look very similar in photos but I haven’t seen either close up! Best of luck with the delivery and settling into your routines after! Celeste
Cleansing Cloth Diapers Employ a higher quality associated with good diapers, nevertheless, you have many brands and forms of Cloth Diapers, this is how you really can pick your very best Organic Cloth Diapers. That is certainly by Choosing your Diapers in line with your budget along with your special needs.
I would love to start out with cloth with my second. We did disposables as well, with cord cutouts and because of the meconium (thought we’d never be able to get it out of the diapers). After using them, which 2-3 newborn cloth dipes do you prefer?
If we have a #3, I’ll definitely be getting more of the Green Mountain Prefolds for daytime use with Bummis Covers and I’ll stick with AIO’s/pockets for nighttime use and for the diaper bag. Softbums and Thirsties most likely. They were small enough to fit right away and still do. We just recently moved up to the size 2 in Thirsties and Haley’s 8 months old. Hope that helps!
