Mama-to-Be: Fairhaven Health Pregnancy Products Review and Giveaway

Over the last few years I’ve become very mindful of the products I use on and in my body. When I’m pregnant, it becomes even more important. From vitamins to creams to exercise, I’m always looking out for what is best for me and my baby. It’s great then, to find a company that cares just as much as I do!

I came across Fairhaven Health while I was searching for a new prenatal yoga DVD to try. I found one……and then some! I was super impressed by all the products they carry. They have product lines for fertility, pregnancy, and nursing. Basically, the essentials you need before, during, and after pregnancy! It’s very convenient to get them all in one place! What I like most about Fairhaven Health is that they’re associated with the American Pregnancy Association and they’ve got a team of real medical experts (doctors, ObGyns, nutritionists, naturopaths and noted fertility experts) helping to formulate their product lines!

Fairhaven Health generously sent me several of their products from their pregnancy line to try out!

  1. Pregnancy Plus Prenatal Vitamin ($16.95): It’s got everything you need packed into 1 little pill, without any additives or preservatives. The prenatal vitamin I was taking before, required 4 pills! This wasis so much easier to remember to take. The only thing I didn’t like, and this is purely a personal preference, was that I could taste it, since it’s not in a coated/capsule form.
  2. Dream Belly Stretch Mark Cream ($16.95): This stuff absolutely smells DIVINE! If you’re sick of the cocoa butter smelling stuff, then you’ve got to try this! It’s got a light grapefruit scent and it goes on nice and smooth. I can’t really say if it will prevent stretch marks or not (I already have some from my first pregnancy), but it’s definitely kept my skin moisturized, which will hopefully keep me from getting any new ones. I read somewhere that stretch marks are genetic, but it never hurts to rub some cream on your belly…..just in case!
  3. Pregnancy Deodorant ($6.95): I’ve never seen pregnancy deodorant before, so I was really excited to try this one out! It’s got the same grapefruit scent as the cream, which comes from grapefruit peel oil, by the way. It’s got no aluminum, parabens, or propylene glycol, so it’s safe and effective! This stuff truly works! No stinky pits at all! My only complaint, and again a personal preference, is that it’s a roll-on instead of a solid. No biggie, I’ve gotten used to holding my arms up for a few seconds to wait for it to dry!
  4. Healthy Mom, Happy Baby Prenatal Yoga DVD ($19.95): Yoga has really helped me during both my pregnancies, and this DVD has earned it’s way into my yoga rotation. It’s a little long (50 minutes), but completely worth it in how I sleep and feel the next day. It’s a Vinyasa practice, which basically means that it’s focused on the connection of breath and movement, which will be very beneficial during labor. The DVD is very easy to followalong to, although some poses do require extra accessories ( a yoga block and a bolster). If you don’t have those things, you can easily substitute with things you have at home.
