A little while ago, I wrote a post about how I was so surprised that Grady was growing out of some of his one-size diapers. You can see that post here. The funny thing about it all, is that Grady is small for his age (4th percentile)! If he’s growing out of some of his one-size diapers, then what are those bigger babies wearing?!
Almost everyone that commented on that post recommended that I should try something from the Thirsties Duo line! These diapers come in 2 sizes (hence the name duo) instead of being a one-size diaper, to help fit a wider range of babies. What I like most about Thirsties though, is that they’re made in the USA! Denver, CO to be exact! Plus, on top of that, the majority (90%) of the fabric and materials used to make the diapers are from the USA, too! That’s dedication to providing people in our own communities with much needed jobs!
Thirsties graciously sent me their new Duo All in One to try on Grady. First, and most importantly, this diaper fits Grady PERFECTLY! No lie, it’s the best fitting diaper we’ve got in our stash (and I’ve got quite a few). He’s wearing the size 2 on the medium rise setting and still has lots of room to grow, both in the rise and waist. This diaper will definitely fit until he potty trains. Just for reference, he’s 20 months old, about 23 pounds and 33 inches with pretty skinny thighs.
The insert is sewn in, so no stuffing required! It’s got a tunnel design (open on both ends) so you can add extra absorbency if you need it. Grady’s not a heavy wetter, so we were just fine as is for daytime use. I didn’t even need to add any extra absorbency for nap time! We use fitted diapers and covers for nighttime so I didn’t test this diaper out in that capacity.
Grady sometimes gets a little red from the leg elastic in other diapers, but not this one! The leg elastic is super soft and hasn’t bothered Grady’s skin at all. I honestly don’t have anything bad to say about this diaper!

I love the Blackbird print!
What a great idea being able to adjust the level of absorbency. Perfect for those kids that need a bit of extra protection.
